Sergeant Hall was issued his 38 pattern cape in Scotland, a week into basic training. Hall kept it through seven years of military service and a career in building design that followed, the cape eventually following him all the way to present day Tasmania. Hall donated his original cape to Kohutt 60+ years later, as inspiration for what we might do with the last remaining bolts of Australian oilskin canvas. We hung it on a hook for a couple of months and walked past it until we knew what to do. The Hall Poncho is named after him. Each poncho ships with a provenance card which is signed by the maker. The Workshop Edition also ships with oilskin reproofer, plus our usual lifetime guarantee and free repairs if you somehow manage to tear or damage it.
