Western Tiers Canvas Bedroll

Bedrolls in oilskin canvas are very limited due to the loss of oilskin manufacturing in Australia. We are producing these bedrolls from the last remaining stock we have on hand. 

The Western Tiers Bedroll by Kohutt – Inspired by the cowboy bedrolls of the American West & re-imagined with a touch of Tasmania and the soul of the traditional Australian swag. Handcrafted in Tasmania from 100% Australian made oilskin canvas or dry waxed canvas. Featuring dual #10 YKK zippers on the left & right with double pulls, head pillow pocket, extended rain cover across the face, brass eyelets on all corners & centered at the head, with a slot through the head cover to take a stick or piece of dowel as a tensioner. Designed for motorcyclists, adventurers, bushcrafters and everything in between - our bedroll is for those who appreciate elements of minimalism & compactness - our design and intention is to run smaller than the big traditional swags of today, yet still be functional & robust. Our bedroll does not come with a mattress - a mattress is a very personal thing and we leave this up to you, as this heavily influences the weight and overall size. Our Mariners Roll Mat is an optional mat option which fits perfectly with our bedroll, while also operating as a standalone fireside camp mat or car/camper/ute/tent mat.

The Western Tiers Bedroll pairs perfectly with our 3x3 shelter tarp, Mariners Roll Mat & range of rugs & ground covers. 

Canvas variants: Available in both oilskin canvas & heavyweight dry waxed canvas. Both materials are 100% Australian made. The dry canvas is slightly heavier than the oilskin in both weight, feel & stiffness and is a polycotton blended canvas with a dry waterproofing agent applied. The oilskin is 100% pure cotton with a traditional oilskin treatment which is oily to the touch - we carry & produce our bedrolls from the last remaining bolts of Australian made oilskin canvas (Australian oilskin manufacturing ceased in 2024). Please note oilskin colours vary from roll to roll. Some are darker / lighter than others. This is the nature of the material.

Personalisation: Your bedroll can optionally be personalised, with a hot stamped leather tab sewn into the hem. After ordering, reply to your order email to arrange your personalisation.

Custom: As these are generally made to order (sometimes we're able to hold inventory depending on how busy the workshop is), we can make small changes if required - for example, increase width or length slightly, etc.
