Waxed canvas x Wool
Our rugged waxed canvas and wool mariners blanket / ground cloth, is designed to keep you warm and dry while keeping watch at sea. It's also perfect for use as a picnic and camp blanket, ground cloth, sit-blanket, or sleeping bag replacement for a swag. The breathable oilskin fabric will protect you from damp or wet ground, while the wool provides a warmth barrier.
Historically, oilskin fabric was used by sailors to create waterproof clothing and tarpaulins from old cotton canvas sails. Our Australian-made oilskin is famous for its durability and effectiveness in protecting against the elements, and is manufactured by one of the last remaining factories in New South Wales, ensuring its quality and authenticity. Whether you're a sailor, camper, or outdoor enthusiast, our mariners blanket is the perfect addition to your gear collection.
Personalisation
The mariners blanket can optionally be personalised, with a leather tab sewn into the hem which could include your initials. Personalisation will add a shipping delay to your order. After ordering, reach out to arrange your personalisation.
Optional care kit
Wool & oilskin garments have been in production for many decades, and it is recommended to follow the same garment procedures for your blanket. We recommend spot cleaning either side - DO NOT machine wash or dry clean. We offer an optional care kit which can be included with your blanket, which comes with a re-proofing agent as well as a detergent, also made in Australia.
